Iyanaga Nobumi
is a researcher at EFEO and responsible of its Tôkyô Center. His publications include Daikokuten hensô: Bukkyô shinwa-gaku I [Metamorphosis of Mahâkâla: Buddhist mythology 1] and Kannon hen'yô-tan: Bukkyô shinwa-gaku II [Transformations of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara: Buddhist mythology 2] (Kyôto, Hôzôkan, 2002). His main focus of interest is the study of Japanese medieval religious culture.
