Hans-Jörg Döhla (Universität Tübingen) has a PhD in Romance and Arabic linguistics from the University of Zurich, Switzerland. After doing linguistic research at the CNRS (groupe SeDyL) from 2011 to 2014, he has been teaching at the universities of Bochum, Tübingen, Salzburg, Mannheim and Heidelberg. In November 2021, he qualified as university lecturer with a thesis on differential object marking in Ibero-Romance creoles of Asia. His main fields of research are Ibero-Romance and French linguistics, with a specialisation in situations of language and cultural contact and their linguistic and sociolinguistic outcomes. In this respect, he mostly deals with Arabic, Maltese and American indigenous languages, Asian languages and Romance creoles.
