About - Patrick OLIVELLE
Patrick Olivelle has taught in the Department of Asian Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. He was elected President of the American Oriental Society. His major publications include: A Dharma Reader: Classical Indian Law (2016), A Sanskrit Dictionary of Law and Statecraft (2015), King, Governance, and Law in Ancient India (2013), Visnu’s Code of Law (2009), The Life of the Buddha (2008), Manu’s Code of Law (2005), and The Early Upaniṣads (1998).
