The catalog of EFEO Publications includes works on a wide range of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences (archaeology, history, anthropology, literature, philology, etc.), centered on Asia, from India to Japan.

Albert E. Dien
Emeritus professor at Stanford University. He was the editor and contributor to State and Society in Early Medieval China (Hong Kong University Press and Stanford University Press, 1991), and has recently completed papers on "Six Dynasties Tomb Figurines: A Typological Survey and Analysis" and "A Note on Examination Systems During the Six Dynasties," the latter dealing with a set of answers to a Western Liang xiucai examination of 408, found at Turfan. He is at present completing a volume on the material culture of the Six Dynasties period.
