Aude Favereau is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Archaeology, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, since 2019. Her research focuses on Metal Age communities in Southeast Asia. She completed her PhD in 2015 at the National Museum of Natural History, Paris, on cultural contacts and circulations across the South China Sea between 500 BC and AD 500, with a particular focus on Sa Huỳnh- and/or Kalanay-related earthenware pottery. She used pottery data analysis to investigate networks around the South China Sea, what was exchanged between communities, and the transformations they experienced as a result of participating in these exchanges. Since 2011, Prof. Favereau has been a member of the French Archaeological Mission in Peninsular Thailand and Myanmar (previously the Thai-French Archaeological Mission).
