Liu Shigu 劉詩古 is an Associate Professor in History Department at Peking University. He received his Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2015 and then went to the History Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong for postdoctoral research from 2015 to 2017. He once served as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in the History Department of Xiamen University from 2017 to 2022. His main research interests combine fieldwork and official archives to study the social economic history of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and the history of Chinese revolution in the twentieth century. His newest book is Ziyuan, chanquan yu zhixu: Ming Qing Poyang huqu de yuke zhidu yu shuiyu shehui 资源、 产权与秩序—明清鄱阳湖区的渔课制度与水域社会 (Resources, Property Rights and Order: Fishery Tax System and Lake Society in the Poyang Lake Region during Ming and Qing Periods, 2018).
