Delphine ZlEGLER
a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is currently writing her dissertation "The cliff-burials of the Wuyi Mountains: A study of their changing religious use and significance from their origin to the Qing." She has published the article "Entre ciel et terre: le culte des bateaux-cercueils du Mont Wuyi" in Cahiers d'Extrême- Asie 9 (1997) and plans to carry out comparative study of the use of boat coffins in other regions, such as Jiangxi, Guangxi, and Sichuan, and to supplement this research with audio-visual productions.
