Carole MORGAN.
After the publication of her dissertation Le bœuf du printemps - Étude d'une page de V almanack chinois, the author contributed to the work of the group set up to catalogue the Pelliot collection of Dunhuang manuscripts. By examing these manuscripts, she was able to shed new light on Tang geomantic practices and other aspects of Chinese divination. But her interests also encompass modern mantic methods and in particular the continued use of temple oracle slips. She has published a number of articles on these subjects and is, at present, a member of a group headed by Marc Kalinowski that is conducting an in-depth study of the Dunhuang divinatory material.
