McGranahan, Carole

Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Colorado, USA. Her research centers on khams pa histories of Tibet. Her recent publications include "Truth, Fear, and Lies: Exile Politics and Arrested Histories of the Tibetan Resistance," Cultural Anthropology, vol. 20, no. 4 (2005) and "Empire and the Status of Tibet: British, Chinese, and Tibetan Negotiations, 1913-1934", in Alex McKay (éd.), The History of Tibet (Richmond, Surrey: Curzon Press, 2003). She is currently finishing a book titled Histories and Secrets: Refugee Nationalism and Soldiers' Stories in the Tibetan Diaspora.
