The catalog of EFEO Publications includes works on a wide range of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences (archaeology, history, anthropology, literature, philology, etc.), centered on Asia, from India to Japan.
These publications address both specialists, and a wider public interested in Asian civilizations and societies.
Urs APP
Associate Director of the International Research Institute for Zen Buddhism, Hanazono University (Kyoto), where he published Concordance to the Record of Linji (Rinzai) in 1993. He is also the editor of the journal Electronic Bodhidharma and of the Institute's newsletter and is involved in the research and creation of electronic Buddhist texts in various languages, and heads the "Zen Knowledge Base" project. His electronic publications include the Zen Kan-Kanji Dictionary and the Linji Lu (with the Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese codes). His translations of portions of the Records of Yunmen (864-949) into English (Kodansha, New York) and into German (Munich) are currently in press. He is currently preparing translations of the records of other T'ang or Five Dynasties Ch'an masters.
