Shigeta Shin'ichi
is a researcher at the Institute of culture of Japanese ordinary people (Nihon jômin bunka kenkyujo) at Kanagawa University. He published Heian kizoku to onmyôji [Heian aristocracy and onmyôji] (Tokyo, Yoshikawa kôbunkan, 2005); Noroi no miyako Heian-kyô [Heian-kyô, capital of curses] (Tokyo, Yoshikawa kôbunkan, 2006); Onmyôji (Tôkyô, Chûô kôron shinsha, Chûkô shinsho 2006); Ôchô kizoku no omajinai [Spells of the Heian period aristocracy] (Tôkyô, Biingu netto puresu, 2008). His ongoing projects include a study on the method of extermination of evil spirits in the Heian period.
